Before the advent of frequency converters, the speed variation in power transmissions has always been realized through mechanical systems. The solution of the kinematics TIMING CHAIN PIV, although considered to be outdated, but still finds application. Due to its incredible durability, are still depending on a number of plants with this type of command.
For this reason FAVARI TRASMISSIONI confirms its commitment to assist its customers in the repair and revision of SPEED VARIATORS PIV. FAVARI TRASMISSIONI has an stock of spare parts provided to ensure timing of intervention as short as possible.

How does it work?
The key lies in its simple yet effective belt-and-pulley design. The CVT works with an all-metall chain that runs between cone-shaped curved pulleys. The transmission ratio between the engine and drive wheels changes in a smooth manner in relation to the variable axial gap between the pulleys. The gap defines the possible chain radii on the pulleys. An infinite number of transmission ratios allows the engine to always run at its optimum speed.
The ‘stepless’ nature of its design is CVT’s biggest draw for automotive engineers. Because of this, a CVT can work to keep the engine in its optimum power range, thereby increasing efficiency and gas mileage.
The PIV Drives CVT is especially designed for heavy duty and high torque applications in the field of construction and off-road where a robust design is needed. The CVT’s efficiency is optimized for all ratios. A CVT can convert every point on the engine’s operating curve.
